I would rent again if I come back.
Very easy to get to from the parking lot, no elevator needed. Getting to the beach was super easy. We would definitely use Sugar Sands again ( this was our second time). The management, Russ Howard, was very helpful and professional. Can’t wait for our next trip!
heated pool and hot tub were fabulous. There was plenty of things to do. Restaurants, stores, and the beach was so beautiful. We were very pleased with our stay for the month.

We had a small issues with our room while there. I reached out to the management office and Russell came out and addressed the issue, and chatted with me for a few minutes. Super nice guy. The customer's experience is very important to him.
The kitchen equipment (pots/pans) were rusty and not in good shape. Really wasn't that big of a deal - we ate out mostly.

The condo decor was just as you see in the pictures - coastal casual. This condo has TONS of room and plenty of storage to accommodate many. We especially loved the beach front view and direct beach access. We will be back!!!

Cons: The TV's are not SMART tv's. So you can't get Netflix or Prime or any streaming. Cable package is poor - most channels you cannot get. Only working DVD player is in the 2nd bedroom.
Appliances need updating, inside dishwasher is rusty, stove coils do not seat properly so you have to jiggle them to get them to work.
Outside table is rusty - we had to put a towel over it to use it.

I would consider bringing your own toiletries. They did provide bar soaps and dish washing powder, but no shampoo, conditioner, or actual dish soap/sponges.
If you have small ones, I'd suggest packing plastic cups and plates for them. There was plenty of dishware, but it was all glass/ceramic.
I would Highly recommend staying in the condo. And also using Sugar Sands for your vacation needs.

We would stay here again just for the awesome location! If you just want to hang at the beach with easy in and out access, it’s a great choice at a great price!
Bonus - the weather was wonderful and the water was pretty clear for most of the days. Fall Break caused the beach to be a little busier than I prefer, but you are still much better off here than the huge crowds further down at larger resorts. We also had a hard time getting our beach chairs reserved consistently, but they were accommodating. The guys who clean the shower/pool and hot
Tub areas are really hard workers and it looks great every morning!
The beds were not very comfortable, and pillows hard (bring your own pillow if you want soft pillows) The TV in the living room was quite small compared to 2021 standards, but we spent most of our time outside. If it had been storming more, it might have been nice to watch a movie on a bigger TV. Otherwise the room was nicely laid out and decorated in an inviting way. Thanks!

The sun, white sand and the crystal clear water helped to over come some of the inconveniences.
Over the years I've stayed all along the beach on okaloosa island and believe that it's has one of the most beautiful coasts around. The buildings along the beach are no higher than seven floors. If your looking for a great getaway without the party crowd this is the place.
Sugar Sands Vacation Rentals gets a AA rating. (The top rating being AAA's is reserved for my next stay without the construction noise)

We created some great new family memories over memorial day break. Nice open layout, plenty of beds and well equipped. The building is close to restaurants and store, Just a short drive to everything. Great views front and side.

We highly recommend Sugar Sands and can’t wait to book through them again next year!
While we didn't cook much, the kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities. The toaster does need to be replaced as the middle heating element was missing so the bread only toasted on one side at a time and you had to hold the lever down the whole time to get it to work at all.
The view was great, the location was great, the chair service was great, and we were pleasantly shocked at how quiet the unit was. We could hear noise from the pool area during the afternoons/evenings when we were in the living area but never past 10 pm.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the property and was very impressed with the Sugar Sands Vacation Rental team. We contacted them with minor questions and their service was impeccable!

The bed and the pull out were uncomfortable as well as the pillows.
The only mirror in the suite is the small one above the sink. Could use more shelving or storage for bathroom items or a bigger vanity at the sink. It would make morning routines easier.
No oven and no toaster oven so baking anything was not possible.
Some decks had chairs outside to sit on, ours did not
I understand you get what you pay for and this suite was affordable. I would rather pay a little more next time

The location is absolutely perfect if you are looking for a laid back vacation or get away.
Summerlin 401 was in a perfect location. Not far from anything you want or need.
The staff at Sugar Sands is all you could ever ask for in a rental property. Quick to respond in every way.
The property is in a smaller condo which is great if you aren’t looking for a crowded group and beach.
The beach service was great. Grab your spot in the morning and you are good until you are ready to call it a day on the beach. If you want to hold a spot just get with the beach service person and you will be set all day.
The condo is a good size and had everything we needed for our stay.

There really isn't much amenities within walking distance. Which was perfect for me. However, if you wish to do a bit of exploring, eating out and seeing the sights, highly recommend a rental unless you want to spend money on Uber.
With my previous experiences with vacation rental by owner sites, my family found leftovers from previous renters. Such things as beach towels, water toys. Most importantly condiments,spices etc. And even on occasion a bottle of vodka on the freezer! However, with covid, the place was wiped clean. So those of you who plan on doing any cooking or snacking, be prepared to go shopping. Also, there were no beach towels which I bought from the convince store.
The fees made the place more expensive than first shown on AirBNB but still worth it.

The room was very clean. There was enough towels for the bathroom. The Wifi kepted going in and out. That wasn't a big deal, we were too exhusted from our busy day any ways. The bed was on the stiff side, not too terrible. The beach is steps away which was a plus as well.
The wicker furniture reminded me of Golden Girls!! Loved it!
My ONLY suggestion is to put curtains in the bedroom. That porch light on the balcony makes it hard to go to sleep. Then the sun wakes you up when it comes up.
I would definitely recommend & stay here again! :)

What I love best about this unit is that it literally takes less than a minute to walk to the beach, even though it's not right ON the beach. We love having lots of space and being so close to the beach. I also really appreciate having a fully equipped kitchen, even though we didn't really cook. We used the kitchen to warm up leftovers, and store our take-out. If you want to cook though, there are plenty of pots/pans. You'd just to bring foil, spices, and whatever food to cook. There is a Tom Thumb right next door where we got coffee and snacks. Would definitely stay here again!

It was super easy to find and access the rental property. It was very clean and had special touches that were greatly appreciated. I especially liked the facewipes in the bathroom! It was very easy to get to the beach and was appropriately priced. We did not pay "on the beach" prices, but it could not have been easier to get to the beach. It was nice having the beach rental chairs right on the other side of the steps. The beds were comfy, tvs were nice and the place was kept up nicely. The only negative thing, which you really could do nothing about, was that you could hear every step someone takes on the upper level. But, that's the nature of staying on the main level. The Condo was bright, clean and had everything I needed for my vacation is not what you call a high end condo, but had been updated and was nice enough. It’s in an older building, but everything seemed well maintained. I thought the price was a bit high since it was not on the water and did not have a water view. But it was an easy walk to the beach. There were 2 beach chairs and an umbrella to use at the beach. The pool was nice and we enjoyed it since swimming was not allowed at the beach for a couple of days because of dangerous surf and rip tides. Overall, I would recommend this condo because of it’s convenience to the ocean. But Next time I will stay where I can hear and see the ocean and it won’t cost that much more.Debora B. 06/14/2022

Our stay at Tropical Isle room 103 was a great experience. We always feel comfortable and safe at Tropical Isle. It is a smaller complex so the pool is never crowded! There is also a convenience store located right next door so those little needed items are easily obtained. The room was very clean and comfortable. 103 is located very close to the pool and the beach is just across the parking lot. I rented this condo for a week for my husband's birthday. The condo was awesome! We had everything we needed and felt right at home. It was across the street from a beautiful beach and the location was great! We were there a week before christmas so it was off season and a lot of places were closed but we picked that condo because it was centrally located to all the things we wanted to do while there. The condo was clean and homey and we would definitely rent it again. The only thing I can say negative about it is sometimes the toilet didnt want to flush the first try but it wasn't a problem, just wait a minute and try again. Wasn't crazy about the appearance when we first arrived, but they were in the middle of a rehab. By the time we left the building was repainted and looked great. The customer's experience is very important to him.
The kitchen equipment (pots/pans) were rusty and not in good shape. Really wasn't that big of a deal - we ate out mostly.

June 2023- I have stayed at Destin West Beach and Bay Resort every time I have been to the Destin Area and each time in a different unit. DW unit 105 is a great location and was perfect for me and my husband. The unit had everything we needed and Sugar Sands was SO EASY to book with! The only complaint we had was the mattress in the main bedroom. PLEASE have the owners upgrade! We had to sleep on the bunk beds and couch after the first night. It is extremely too soft and killed our backs. If we had driven (we flew in) I would have spent the money on a mattress topper and brought it home with us. I normally don't leave reviews but wanted to for this stay bc there were several things I wish we would have known. Pros- great location loved the 1st floor and quick walk to the beach and right at the pool. The condo was fully stocked with everything we could need or want. Loved that it came with beach chairs and umbrella! Cons- nothing opens until 9am which means no pool and no reserving of chairs until then after standing in line. Since nothing opens until 9 the patio gates remain locked until after 9 and sometimes it was 930 so we had to carry all ther beach toys from the back patio through the condo to go out the other door bc that's the only way in and out from 10pm-9am. Doesn't seem too bad except when you have younger kids that like to beach early and crab hunt at night. We also had things stolen from our patio (towels hanging out to dry). And like past reviewers the washer and drier were the loudest thing we've ever heard! So were the bathroom vent hoods. This was a great unit and the overall condo development was okay. The unit #407 was tastefully decorated and just as shown in the pics. It’s a great layout. It was easy to find and so close to so many places to eat and things to visit. The unit itself was missing a pot holder and would recommend perhaps 2 dish towels for the kitchen. It was chiller then seasonally normal so my husband used the hot tub. While the temperature was warm the jets did not function. A bit of a downer but hopefully that can be fixed. I was really happy with my stay at Destin West Gulfside G503. The master bedroom was very comfortable. The bunk bedroom was quite small, and as noted in the description, best suited for kids. You could sleep 6 people there, but that wouldn't be a comfortable situation. Cleanliness was good, the kitchen had virtually everything you might need, and the view of the gulf was very nice. The parking garage is nice and not far from the condo. It's an easy walk to the Boardwalk which has several restaurants and a couple shops. Traffic on highway 98 is pretty crazy, so while I was hoping to do some biking directly from the condo, I decided that wasn't a safe option. This place was wonderful. The decor was a little dated, and it was a little small, but the amenities more than made up for it! The pool right outside the unit is huge and clean. Not terribly crowded. The other pools were a little more crowded, but the lazy river was fun. The beach access was perfect. It was only steps from the elevator and it was beautiful. Rentals for umbrellas and chairs were included, and we were able to leave our stuff there when we wanted to take a break for lunch. There are a bunch of small showers on your way back from the beach to get the excess sand off. Everything was a breeze. And the in unit washer/dryer was such a convenience. This is our 3rd year staying at Island Princess in Fort Walton. The first two years we stayed in the same condo on the sixth floor but could not get it this year so we had to pick a new condo. This condo was clean and laid out well. The only things I could complain about is the showers are out dated, the air conditioning did not cool the master bedroom very well and the red sofa was very uncomfortable. As far as location and the Island Princess complex, it is great!! I did notice this year a sign at the beach stating we could reserve our chairs and umbrella for $15 a day to save on having to get up early or wait in line. We had a great stay at this condo. The view was amazing and my favorite part. The King size bed was comfortable and my kids loved the bunk beds. I loved that the unit had a washer and dryer since you do have to bring your own beach towels, so we were able to wash those to use for the pool. Pool was heated (we came beginning of March) the hot tub was broken our first day and sadly was scalding hot the rest of our week so we were unable to enjoy that. I loved the beach set up that we were able to use daily, it was a huge plus! The location and beach were perfect. The unit had ample towels and was kept clean, shower did have what looked like some mold starting around one of the seals but still clean. The fridge did have a water filter with ice maker but the light to change the filter was on so not sure if that was just on our stay or all the time(we did not use it though because of this) The only real negative was some of the dishes were not clean, so we would pre-wash before using anything. Also not a lot of closet space for luggage but these few things were not dealbreakers. If given the chance we would definitely come back to this unit/location.A guest 03/30/2024

Great view of the ocean from the room, the room was located directly off the elevator which made going to and from the beach/ pool easy, everything was updated, the kitchen was equipped well, the beds were comfortable and everything was clean! The only "minor" issue was that the extra bedroom could have used "blackout" curtains at the window because as another guest reviewed, there is a red EXIT sign directly above that window. We normally stay in Destin or further east; however, I came across this condo on VRBO and really liked how clean it looked. We haven't stayed in Fort Walton in years, but after this stay, we will be back. The crowds are minimal due to the fact there aren't any high-rise condos; parking was assigned and easy; property came with beach rental set-up and all the necessary amenities needed for a great extended weekend stay. We cooked breakfast in the condo each day and used the community grills for dinner so we could avoid (Covid) crowds at restaurants. Pool stayed clean. Walking to beach literally took less than a minute from the pool to our chairs. Pros: View, location, good size unit and comfortable.Cons: The TV's are not SMART tv's. So you can't get Netflix or Prime or any streaming. Cable package is poor - most channels you cannot get. Only working DVD player is in the 2nd bedroom.
Appliances need updating, inside dishwasher is rusty, stove coils do not seat properly so you have to jiggle them to get them to work.
Outside table is rusty - we had to put a towel over it to use it.

My family had a four night stay in this unit after memorial day weekend. It was immaculate, sparkling clean. My kids' feet were not stained black like other places we've stayed in. The carpet was such a nice touch, unique. It was deep and soft, a nice stain resistant gray color. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked, anything from measuring cups, tongs for grilling, different size spoons and forks. More plates and bowls than believable. The fridge was big and extraordinarily clean. The oven worked perfectly, vent worked well. The king size bed was showing its usage, springs were a bit used, but still comfortable. The balcony was well appointed with good seating, a nice patio rug, high chairs, it felt so good opening the large doors and allowing the nice gulf breeze to flow in. Also liked the ceiling fans in the bed and living room. Very useful. Loved the location, 3rd floor was perfect because it was near the beach but far enough from the pool to avoid the noise. Loved that the beach was so close, we'd hear the waves at night. Loved that washer dryer worked well, vacuum, broom, toilet plunger, lots of towels, laundry baskets, everything was thought out. Nothing was missing. The unit was charming, shabby chic. I gave it 4 stars because it was showing its age, cracks here and there against the walls, bathtubs were very small even for 5 ft women. Couches sink down from usage, duvet felt worn. I think to rent a vacation home requires updating these things every few years to keep up with comfort. However, the company's customer service was AWEFUL. You have to check in immediately for the service or you will be stuck on the back row all week. Condo owner should complain about the set up. Rounded balcony with an amazing view. Great area, I felt super safe. Very clean. Perfect amount of space for 3 adults and 3 kids. The child safety lock on the sliding door was screwed in and out of my kids reach, which was a huge relief and something the other units didn't have.I would consider bringing your own toiletries. They did provide bar soaps and dish washing powder, but no shampoo, conditioner, or actual dish soap/sponges.
If you have small ones, I'd suggest packing plastic cups and plates for them. There was plenty of dishware, but it was all glass/ceramic.

Our family of 4 comfortably enjoyed our stay late June 2022. Condo was clean, well maintained, and as advertised. The outdoor patio was a little cramped for our family and only provided seating for two. There were two additional small chairs that need to be replaced. One was so rusted it broke during our stay. The other we never sat in because of its condition. Owner said they would be replacing them so that should be addressed already. The beach service was nice but front row is reserved for owners so having small children and sitting 20 yards from the water doesn’t work well. Unfortunately we stayed when hurricane Ida hit so the last couple days of our stay were rained out but before that we had a wonderful time! The location is amazing and very close to all major attractions with tons of fun things for kids and families to do.There is no shortage of fantastic restaurants nearby. We have 4 kids ages 2-11 and there was plenty to do for everyone. The beach and pool is just a few steps from the condo and you have to have a code to use them which is nice so not just anyone can come in. The pool is very clean and has a hot tub. They paid for beach service (umbrella and chairs) for our whole stay which was great to have! We were given a parking pass for a specific spot which did not actually exist we had to call and make sure we were in the right place but that wasn’t a big deal they were very quick to help and very friendly. No complaints would definitely stay again or recommend to anyone looking for a nice vacation spot! We really enjoyed our vacation at Ft Walton Beach and the property location was great. Being right on the beach and close to driving distance for everything made it much easier. There were a few minor things not working in our room such as the dryer and stove but management came out right away to fix stove. They also came out mostly everyday in taking laundry for us to wash which was very kind of them. The property was clean and very nice. We were walking distance to stewbys seafood really great place and mini golf. Located right on the beach was awesome. We drive a 5 minute drive to Destin and ate down at Tailfind and rode the pirate ship. Also a minute drive to the Boardwalk and ate at Crab trap, Rocking tacos, and Al's all amazing food places. I asked some co workers where a good place to stay and was island princess was recommended to me .. we had an amazing time . The room was great , only fall back was being on the ground floor no ocean view ! We stayed in 105 . The upper side of that was with 7 of us and 2 being grandchildren it was easy access to pool and beach . Another plus when you come back to your room you enter thru the porch area and you don’t have to drag all the beach stuff thru the room to the porch area .. because you can never get all the sand off of everything .. that was a big plus .. the room was clean and very nice ! I would recommend it to anyone and would definitely come back. I was kind of worried about contact but they always responded and was so nice. We couldn’t have been happier with the location as we literally walked out onto the pool deck and across a small walkway to the beach! The unit is on a semi-private patio - people do walk past to go to the beach but about as private as you can get for a ground floor unit. Our child loved playing with the MANY beach toys and small sand/rock pile on the patio! (Don’t waste your packing space on beach toys/floats - the ones left at the unit are great!) The unit is very clean. The guest bed was not comfortable to me but the king was comfortable for my family members. Only a few minor suggestions - replace the guest mattress, put blackout curtains in the guest room (light from parking lot was extremely bright and frustrating for this darkened room sleeper), clean ceilings and air vents, and there was a strong gas odor coming from the area where the pool maintenance stuff was - perhaps check on that and make sure CO2 detectors are working well.We would stay here again just for the awesome location! If you just want to hang at the beach with easy in and out access, it’s a great choice at a great price!
Bonus - the weather was wonderful and the water was pretty clear for most of the days. Fall Break caused the beach to be a little busier than I prefer, but you are still much better off here than the huge crowds further down at larger resorts. We also had a hard time getting our beach chairs reserved consistently, but they were accommodating. The guys who clean the shower/pool and hot

We had a great time. The stretch of beach was perfect, clean and not very crowded - especially since we were there over Memorial weekend. The room was nice in a convenient location to parking, the pool, and beach. Ground floor is fantastic for families with children, they can catch lizards in the small gated courtyard and it's a much easier trip to the beach and pool from the ground floor. The room was extremely clean. Some things are a bit worn (dresser drawers for example), but I didn't mind as it was very, very clean. The only downside to this unit is the lack of view, as the sand dunes are in front of the patio. We were very pleased with everything. The condo was just as viewed on the website with everything we needed. The beach was a very short walk over nice walkway that had built in areas for you to leave your shoes and the area to wash off the sand was very nice. The condo it's self is clean, well equipped and spacious. Some of the furniture needs to be updated. When I made my reservation there was no mention of construction. I later received an email stating construction to the outer building would be ongoing during my stay and it would be limited from 9-5 which undauntedly the time limitations did not make it's way to the construction workers. The noise from the construction was annoying to wake up too.The sun, white sand and the crystal clear water helped to over come some of the inconveniences.
Over the years I've stayed all along the beach on okaloosa island and believe that it's has one of the most beautiful coasts around. The buildings along the beach are no higher than seven floors. If your looking for a great getaway without the party crowd this is the place.
Sugar Sands Vacation Rentals gets a AA rating. (The top rating being AAA's is reserved for my next stay without the construction noise)

We LOVED having access to beach umbrella service, especially during a busy holiday weekend. The unit is well equipped, the ONLY minor thing I would add is that there are only plastic dishes available that cannot be microwaved, which made heating anything up challenging. If you are looking for a family friendly beach vacation. This is the spot. Our family stayed here with our 4 and 6 year old kids. This is the last property on this strip of beach, making it very secluded and quiet, even during spring break, which is when we stayed. The pictures of the views from the unit don't do it justice. You open the front door and see a full panoramic of the ocean right away. This is the closest building to the beach so it is truly: step out of your door, go down the elevator, and walk right on to the pier leading to the beach. Extremely convenient. The complex was wonderful, lots of space, beautiful beachside pool (Too cold to swim in when we were there) beautifully maintained grounds. We did have problems with one of the elevators "Sticking" and got stuck for about 10 minutes on it but the company came out and worked on it very quickly, just a bit scary. The heated pool was down for repair work so that was a bit of a bummer but not a deal breaker. The condo itself was beautiful, well stocked, very clean and comfortable. The ice maker in the fridge was super slow but we just bought ice at Tom Thumb. The beach area was amazing, views from the condo were amazing. Loved this quiet location enough to return again and again. We are senior citizens and being in a quiet location is what we need. As a larger family its difficult to find a clean affordable safe place to take a vacation! Our stay here provided everything we were looking for and was close enough to the water you could hear the waves crashing at night. Stores and shops of all types were conveniently located nearby yet the location of our rental made it feel like we were the only people there! Neighbors were quiet and respectful...and staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful as well. We could even door dash dinner if we felt like staying in and the guards would call and make sure we were expecting someone before letting them on the property. From the outside you'd never see the beauty. Villa 301 was CLEAN and felt more like a COZY apartment. All the other guests and tenants were nice. The condo was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay . It was decorated really well with a tasteful beach theme. Check in was easy. Our daughter loved her bunk bed retreat with her own bathroom and TV. The complimentary beach chairs and umbrella were great, but you do get 2nd row since they save front row for paying guests ( totally understandable) , and they even have drink and food service on the beach right to your chairs . We booked DWGS #303 from 12-31 through 2-1-21. Upon arrival we noticed that the condo was very clean & very well decorated in a beachy theme. The condo was super comfortable from the beds, the living room furniture & dining furniture. The kitchen has everything that you’ll need or want. The view of the gulf is spectacular & you just can’t get enough of it. Your views are inside & outside out on the patio with seating for 6. The location of the condo is close to grilling area, fitness area & unheated & heated pool/spa area just 2 floors below you. Access to the beach is a 2 minute walk over a nice composite decking to white sand & turquoise water. When returning there’s water to clean off sandy feet. There’s another plus from 3rd floor, you can access a walking bridge to get across hwy 98 to use Destin wests other property amenities or anything on that side of the road with out dealing with traffic. This unit did not come with complimentary beach service set up, but the owners did provide chairs and an umbrella. Probably more comfortable than the chairs offered by the beach service, honestly. I do wish additional shower/ sand rinse areas coming from the beach were located near the boardwalks as you travel to and from the beach. Just as described, great location, great value. Management checked in with us the day prior to make sure we had all of the information and that questions were answered. The complex was clean, and orderly as was the unit. The work-out room was lacking. We used this as a location to catch our breaths and to grieve/process after my mom passed away. It was a wonderful location and met our needs (family of 6) perfectly. The beach is clean and peaceful. The pool and hot tubs were clean and temps good. Need to replace the ironing board, batteries for remote controls (not that we watched much tv) and get a better locks for the bedroom and bathrooms (one wiggle and they open). The beach chairs could be replaced (they left rust spots on my towel) but that is literally the only negative I have to say. The view from the unit was everything, and the location of the unit at the end of the building meant we could walk right down the stairs, out the door and onto the SUGAR white sand. The property is towards the west end of the island which means walking to any restaurant is a little far but worth it for the quiet residential vibe. The property, while older, was well maintained and we were impressed by how clean the grounds were kept during our entire stay. We also loved the idea of the "Beach Toy Library" they had in the garage area! Wish we had that when our kids were young! Our unit was in pretty good shape with a few exceptions. The flooring in the master needs to be replaced-carpet is not beach friendly. We did not go barefoot in the bedroom because the carpet felt and looked dirty. The pillows could be replaced as well but the bed was comfortable and the bedroom itself was dark and quiet so we slept well. The ac and water pressure were great! The furniture throughout the unit was comfortable and in good shape.While we didn't cook much, the kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities. The toaster does need to be replaced as the middle heating element was missing so the bread only toasted on one side at a time and you had to hold the lever down the whole time to get it to work at all.
The view was great, the location was great, the chair service was great, and we were pleasantly shocked at how quiet the unit was. We could hear noise from the pool area during the afternoons/evenings when we were in the living area but never past 10 pm.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the property and was very impressed with the Sugar Sands Vacation Rental team. We contacted them with minor questions and their service was impeccable!

This location is perfect for me - close to everything but on a dead end, so not much traffic. The unit is high enough to see dolphins frolicking in the gulf. The staff at Sugar Sands is all you could ever ask for in a rental property. Quick to respond in every way.
The property is in a smaller condo which is great if you aren’t looking for a crowded group and beach.
The beach service was great. Grab your spot in the morning and you are good until you are ready to call it a day on the beach. If you want to hold a spot just get with the beach service person and you will be set all day.
The condo is a good size and had everything we needed for our stay.

We booked this condo for my husband and I and our 4 kids and we never wanted to leave! The view is absolutely stunning you can see ocean for miles on the HUGE balcony. They have nice patio sets that my kids loved to eat breakfast on and watch the ocean. CLEAN beach. The location is perfect not touristy but definitely tons to do. Great food and shopping. The condo was very clean and spacious with all the little extra things to make your stay more homey they even have beach toys for the kids! Bedrooms and bathrooms were plenty big for all of us. This condo has a huge kitchen with a large island. The kitchen is well stocked - even items to perform baking, if one chooses to do so. The access to the parking area, pool and beach was so convenient, that I didn't have to use my portable wagon to transport items. From the condo, I was able to easily monitor the activities of the 3 teens that were on vacation with me, as I had a view of the beach and pool from the spacious outdoor porch area. Grocery and convenient stores are very close; along with a great variety of restaurants. Beverly, from the rental management team, was fantastic to work with me through a few issues that were due to the current pandemic concerns. Studio was just how described. Didn't realize it came with a murphy bed. Never slept in one but it was quite comfortable. Very quiet older neighborhood and steps to the beach. Staff and housekeeping went above and beyond as to drive me to a restaurant and went to pick up sundries I forgot at Publix.There really isn't much amenities within walking distance. Which was perfect for me. However, if you wish to do a bit of exploring, eating out and seeing the sights, highly recommend a rental unless you want to spend money on Uber.
With my previous experiences with vacation rental by owner sites, my family found leftovers from previous renters. Such things as beach towels, water toys. Most importantly condiments,spices etc. And even on occasion a bottle of vodka on the freezer! However, with covid, the place was wiped clean. So those of you who plan on doing any cooking or snacking, be prepared to go shopping. Also, there were no beach towels which I bought from the convince store.

Rolling bar cart would be great for food prep area (very little counter area) Floor lamp would be nice addition. Where I live at night it is DARK so pole light in parking lot shining thru blinds was bothersome so bought black sheet to cover window so maybe some kind of shade that could be drawn. Shower could use LOT more pressure. Things I like - SO CLOSE TO BEACH!! Murphy bed was comfortable and by having it really opened up floor space. This was an adorable little condo it a great location! Steps from the beach and the convenience store right next door was a life saver! Everything was nearby too, in mileage, not far at all, but oh my goodness the traffic there is nuts! We already started talking about what we would do when we went back :)The wicker furniture reminded me of Golden Girls!! Loved it!
My ONLY suggestion is to put curtains in the bedroom. That porch light on the balcony makes it hard to go to sleep. Then the sun wakes you up when it comes up.

This experience was wonderful! Showed up to a unit that was just as nice as in the photos. The unit was very clean! The upstairs loft was a hit with our two children and our king sized bed was comfy and easy to get a good night's rest. The balcony is set right in line with the walkway to the beach, so we had a great view. It's about a hundred yard walk to the water, maybe sixty yards to the sand. This is the second time we have stayed in this unit, and we just love it! Considering the roomy layout, the fully equipped kitchen, and the 30 second walk to the beach - it is a GREAT deal! The unit was very clean when we arrived. It is very roomy and could house a family with several kids comfortably. We loved the loft area, although the steps up to it can be a little daunting. The 2 full bathrooms are adequate.What I love best about this unit is that it literally takes less than a minute to walk to the beach, even though it's not right ON the beach. We love having lots of space and being so close to the beach. I also really appreciate having a fully equipped kitchen, even though we didn't really cook. We used the kitchen to warm up leftovers, and store our take-out. If you want to cook though, there are plenty of pots/pans. You'd just to bring foil, spices, and whatever food to cook. There is a Tom Thumb right next door where we got coffee and snacks. Would definitely stay here again!

The condo was very comfortable and updated. Nice furniture!! Great location within walking distance to the beach, seriously steps away. There was not a vacuum and it gets really sandy quick. There is an outdoor shower/hose at the pool area to rinse off the sand before coming in, glad we figured that out. I think it would be nice to have curtains on the bedroom windows/door to keep the sun out if you want to sleep in. Closet had sand toys, floats, noodles, and chairs which was a nice addition. Perfect condo for a couple...with one bathroom it would be a little harder to have added guests. Roomy! Little store next door for grocery items and ice. We arrived at our adorable condo at night. We were pleased with everything about it! First morning we woke up looking at a gorgious sunrise perfect view looking toward destin. We were a nice even distance with the beach to our rught and lazy river to our left. Next to the gulf side was Ricks on the Islad just over the waling bridge with amazing drinks, pizza, and bar tender. We spent most of our tine on the powder white beavhes and enjoyed the complamentry umbrellas and chairs. Rockin borrito is also close, on the beach and tasty. For all of you coffee drinkers a coffee maker was provided in the room along with dishes, cups ect.. We met the condo property manager who was also extremely friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Destin West Villa and the beautiful beach it has. The atmosphere was pleasant with staff being helpful on everything. The parking is right on property with a covered multi-level garage so one can unload right on the level you are staying. The gulf side has two pools, and one of them is heated. It also has a hot tub and all the pools were clean and well maintained. The units were clean and well stocked with a Publix just a 4 minute drive from the property. The staff constantly called to make sure there were no problems and there were not. There was a queen bed and pull out sofa bed if needed. Off the patio we could see the Gulf and the dunes and if that wasn't enough, one could use the overhead walkway to get to the bay side of the complex without trying to cross the busy street below. That part of the property had its own pool and a lazy river where one could tube ride around the pool. The bay side also has a dock where you could fish. On both sides have many restaurants and shops. We ate at Ricks on the bay side and the food was good and fresh. There is live music on the weekends too. There is a boardwalk and a mini golf/go-carts and arcade within walking distance but it is the sand on the beach that keeps one there. The staff provide two beach chairs with an umbrella for your stay with them. There is an aquarium down the street you can walk to and see the dolphins and turtles which is worth going to. Also chartered a fishing trip with Snoops and even though the water had 3-5 feet swells had fun pulling in Snapper and Trigger fish. We will stay here again for sure.A guest 03/15/2022

We stayed in a villa on the gulf side on the fifth floor. Had a view of the gulf and the bay from the balcony. Walking didistance to the board walk and gulfarium. Liked that 2 beach chairs and an umbrella were included when at the beach (the company that runs the service operates from 9-5). The weather was cooler on our stay so having heated pools was great, there was one by the villa and one across the bridge by the lazy river. Lazy river is not heated, but there are 2 hot tubs. The beach was maybe a 2 min walk from our room, so very convenient. There are restrooms on the first level. The parking garage has 6 levels each with a walkway to the respective floor of the villa. Everything was accessible, staff was helpful, location was within walking distance to numerous activities & restaurants. It might be helpful to tell future guests what type of laundry detergent to bring; also, we didn't know until our last night that the latch on the door handle of the washer/dryer was cracked & the unit never went into its dry cycle (we had to bring a sack of wet laundry home). My wife and I stayed November 12-27 we had a great time the condo is in a great location to view the gulf and the bay from the balcony. It is in walking distance from the pier and boardwalk you have many pools to choose from and the white sand beaches were nicely groomed. We had a really good time at this location. The property was clean and comfortable. It could use some updating. The condo is very convenient to the parking garage. The balcony is very noisy from the traffic so we did not spend much time outside, which is too bad. We had a problem with the balcony door not closing, so I called the manager and they sent someone to fix it right away. The included beach chairs and umbrella was very nice. The beach was beautiful. We saw a lot of dolphins. The food at Ricks on the Island was very good. Also Anglers at the end of the pier was very good. What a great experience! The property was admittedly showing its age, but it was very clean and filled with great amenities, including a full kitchen with a large fridge and other goodies like a washer/dryer combo that we used to wash clothes, beach towels, and other stuff. We were able to make lunch and cook dinner in the room most days, which saved a ton of money. There is great proximity to shopping from the property, including a Publix grocery store and a Wal Mart. On site amenities are great too! Several onsite pools, a lazy river, and great proximity to the beach are all there. Beach amenities are great. Some beach amenities are free, others are reasonably priced, just be sure to wear your arm bands when you are out. Restaurants abound in the area, there is a nearby aquarium, and the Air Force's Armament Museum (which we visited) is at nearby Eglin AFB. If we get the chance, we're going back!Shawn S. 07/18/2021

We had a great stay! The resort feels large and spread out, not crowded at all, even during a busy week like spring break when we were there. We enjoyed having both the beach and bay access (our son really liked fishing on the bay side). All of the resort amenities were great. The resort is conveniently located near both Okaloosa and Destin attractions. My only recommendation for the villa itself would be to have it deep cleaned and add a vacuum to the unit. My son said the pull out bed was very hard and not comfortable. Overall, we were satisfied with our accommodation’s. I would definitely recommend the resort and we will be back!Amber G. 04/01/2024
