This is a great condo in perfect location. The only suggestions I have for upgrades are adding additional bedding to the closets for use (blankets and proper sized top sheets for the bunks) and the toilet in second bathroom needs new wax ring, it is very wobbly.

June 2023- I have stayed at Destin West Beach and Bay Resort every time I have been to the Destin Area and each time in a different unit. DW unit 105 is a great location and was perfect for me and my husband. The unit had everything we needed and Sugar Sands was SO EASY to book with! The only complaint we had was the mattress in the main bedroom. PLEASE have the owners upgrade! We had to sleep on the bunk beds and couch after the first night. It is extremely too soft and killed our backs. If we had driven (we flew in) I would have spent the money on a mattress topper and brought it home with us. (That’s the reason for the 4 star review) Otherwise, it’s a 5 star property.

I normally don't leave reviews but wanted to for this stay bc there were several things I wish we would have known. Pros- great location loved the 1st floor and quick walk to the beach and right at the pool. The condo was fully stocked with everything we could need or want. Loved that it came with beach chairs and umbrella! Cons- nothing opens until 9am which means no pool and no reserving of chairs until then after standing in line. Since nothing opens until 9 the patio gates remain locked until after 9 and sometimes it was 930 so we had to carry all ther beach toys from the back patio through the condo to go out the other door bc that's the only way in and out from 10pm-9am. Doesn't seem too bad except when you have younger kids that like to beach early and crab hunt at night. We also had things stolen from our patio (towels hanging out to dry). And like past reviewers the washer and drier were the loudest thing we've ever heard! So were the bathroom vent hoods. I was very pleased with the after hour service bc our smoke alarm was chirping bc of the battery and they responded via text very quickly!

Condo was clean and ready for our stay. We got a call on the way down to inform us the washing machine was broken. They offered to clean our clothes for us. We are staying again in G105 this fall so hopefully the issue be will resolved. The ground level is so convenient when we have the grandkids. Also the condo is located near the shallow end of the pool. Like that Sugar Sands rental has the 3 night minimum (most have 7 night minimum) and flexible on the check in day.

The room was on 1st floor with direct access to pool from patio. So so convenient. Pool is open until 11 pm. Hard to find that. Condo is directly in front of the beach too. We had some issues with washer and pull out mattress but Sugar Sands went above and beyond to fix the issues. I've never had a more courteous rental company. Will book with them again.
